Though sonically inspired by minor keys and modes, Anna Claire Loftis’ lyrics work to show a glowing outlook on worldly matters. Driven by a desire to understand the true nature of things and strip back a falsified reality, her music explores honest truths that might be difficult to hear. In this world of abstracts, her pop-driven melodies and heavy synthetic beats attempt to provide an answer.

Anna Claire speaks both fondly and critically about her biblical background. Originally from Montgomery, AL she grew up in a Southern Baptist Church that flaunted open arms and a crisp exterior. Within her compositions, we have watched her writhe underneath that polished, glassy surface of religion. As she abandoned the charade of perfection, she was able to rediscover her faith, while also making the leap to Nashville.

Anna Claire’s music provides an escape that revels in authenticity and free flowing verses. Her hopeful spirit is not lost within her truth-telling art, but leaps out striking in songs like “In the Morning” and “Sleepwalker.” Speaking in metaphor and at other times quite plainly, she embraces her true calling as a poet of pop.

In Spring 2020, Anna Claire released her second EP titled “Happy on TV.” With this new sound that drips both color and moxie, Anna Claire continues to define her niche amongst Nashville’s new scene of pop artists.

Press Release:

My name is Anna Claire Loftis, and I am an indie pop artist in Nashville, TN. Beginning December 6th with a single titled "Motion Sick," I started rolling out a new EP titled "Happy on TV" that came out Spring of 2020. If you have time, I would love to chat about it. I'm exploring the theme of reality bottled up and broken in media, freudian spaces, religious text, and in one on one conversation... I'm pretty excited about it. Faith, feminism and an ever evolving music industry are only the pre-choruses to a lifetime of crafting the perfect song. Thanks again for supporting the music community - as an artist, we cannot do it without you guys. I look forward to hearing from you!

Similar to artists like Julia Michaels, Noah Cyrus and Marian Hill, her vocals are massaged into very modern, heavy, and captivating production.

On February 28, Anna Claire released the second single off her upcoming EP, “Broke Like Glass”. This song was inspired by several hypothetical confrontations that actually came to fruition after the track was written. According to Anna Claire, “This song has an altogether different meaning, now that I can replay the different conversations in my head. With plenty of broken glass and shards to spare, this song feels like a healthy release of emotion that’s helping me to move forward in life and music.”

“Broke Like Glass” is one of six tracks off her new EP, “Happy on TV”, released in Spring 2020. Following a whimsical ballad, her track “Broke Like Glass” presents a change in mindset and mood. Stepping foot in studios like Oceanway and curating very new sound compared to past projects, Anna Claire is excited to hit the road running, bringing her bright energy and dynamic performance to new fans throughout the States.
